Tudor World (Falstaffs)

The Falstaff building is a medieval timber-framed building in Stratford upon Avon. It is believed to be the town's oldest lived-in house, dating back to the 16th Century.

William Shrieve, an archer for King Henry VIII, was the first recorded person to live in the house. In the 16th Century, the building became an Inn, owned by William Rodgers, who was believed to be the inspiration for Shakespeare's character, Falstaff.

During the 17th Century, soldiers wounded at the battle of Edgehill in the Civil War were brought back to the building. The building has withstood Plague, Civil War, and two fires.

A fascinating place to visit by day, but as night approaches, the atmosphere changes to something far more eerie. Join us to explore the unknown in this unique historic building.
